NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Deadlines Approaching

Application deadlines for National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships are approaching:

-- 2 November 2009 (Interdisciplinary Studies)
-- 4 November 2009 (Mathematical Sciences, Computer and Information Sciences and Engineering)
-- 5 November 2009 (Geosciences, Psychology, Social Sciences)
-- 6 November 2009 (Life Sciences)
-- 10 November 2009 (Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy)
-- 12 November 2009 (Engineering)

The National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) helps ensure the vitality of the human resource base of science and engineering in the United States and reinforces its diversity. The program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based master's and doctoral degrees in the U.S. and abroad. The NSF welcomes applications from all qualified students and strongly encourages under-represented populations, including women, under-represented racial and ethnic minorities, and persons with disabilities, to apply for this fellowship.

Eligibility requirements:

-- US citizen, US national or permanent resident alien.
-- Graduating senior; have completed a B.S./B.A. degree; or are in their 1st year or the first semester of their 2nd year in graduate school.
-- Pursuing a research-based master's or doctoral degree in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields supported by NSF.

Award details:

-- Three years of support
-- $30,000 annual stipend
-- $10,500 cost-of-education allowance
-- $1,000 one time international travel allowance
-- TeraGrid Supercomputer access
